Chad Bannor

Having my dad (Randy Bannor) and grandpa (Larry Bannor) be an influential piece to the early days of the Blizzard Tour and for what they did in 1999 going around Lake Superior all while raising money, it really makes me proud. In 1999 I was in the first grade so being able to now be a part of the puzzle for our Circle Tour Ride in 2024 is surreal. I know my grandpa Larry would be proud of all of us. I’ve been close to the “Original Four” guys that rode around Lake Superior in 1999 to raise money for ALS, and for the last 25 years to be exposed to the passion for raising money for ALS through the Blizzard Tour, it feels good to be a part of a unique opportunity like this to help people with the disease. Being able to share this memory and adventure with my dad is also something special. He has been my riding partner since 1998 when he brought home a Ski-Doo mini-z. Adam Christensen who is a great friend of mine, is also riding with us. Being able to share this effort with these guys really is monumental. We’re doing a good thing for people that need the help, and we hope that many people will follow along and donate to join the fight against ALS as we collectively raise money for the disease. We have unique sponsorship platforms that will interest you, please visit our “Sponsorship Levels” page within our website for additional information on ways you can donate to the cause and be a key player of this mission.

The snowmobiling part of our trip really should be the easy part, the challenging part is working hard together to promote the ride and raise as much as we can with the help of many. We hope that through our website exposure, social media, and other marketing platforms, we can gain the exposure that we know this ride is capable of. The involvement of a few key behind the scenes people who have really helped us are standing behind us 100% and we can’t thank them enough. They all deserve a huge thank you as they’ve stood behind us the whole way and most importantly, they believe in what we’re doing. They’re passionate about fighting back against ALS and giving people the care that they deserve. A big thank you to those who have helped us and have believed in what we are trying to accomplish through this effort.

I think it’s important to note that we’ve continued to raise awareness about the disease for 26 years in total. 2024 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Blackwoods Blizzard Tour, which truly is an accomplishment and something for the many people involved to be proud of. If you look at the 17 million dollars that has been raised over those 25 years, it’s no doubt they’ve made a collective difference and made an impact on those who have lived, and those who are currently living with the disease.

We’re hopeful that our plan of riding snowmobiles around Lake Superior in 2024 is influential, and people find the same courage that we have, to fight the disease of ALS. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to this important cause. Your donation will help fund the fight against ALS by providing support and services for individuals living with ALS as well as research into treatments for this disease.

Sincerely,

Chad Bannor
