Jim Crace

I have been an avid snowmobiler since the 1970’s when I was introduced to the sport as a child.  I started riding the Blackwood’s Blizzard Tour many years ago as a way to give back to those that are less fortunate than I am.  I have a passion for snowmobiling and a desire to help others…it was a natural fit for me.

My cousin Jerry “The Greek” Miller died of ALS in 2005 and this also had an influence on me participating in this fundraiser over the years.  Jerry was a great man; he worked for 32 years as the Chief Engineer at WCCO radio in the Twin Cities.  He was loved by everyone who called him their friend.

Since I joined the fight to find a cure for ALS, I have been humbled to meet so many more people who have had their lives affected by the horrible disease.  This has amplified my desire to help.

Over the years, I have become friends with several of the original riders from the 1999 Circle Tour and was fascinated hearing their stories about the trials and tribulations of the adventure.  Being the adventurous soul that I am; I immediately wanted to be a part of this and for many years I encouraged Randy Bannor to allow us to experience the journey first hand by completing the ride again.  In February of 2023, while on the Blackwood’s Blizzard Tour, we decided to make the trip happen again.  We started planning immediately and have been working hard ever since to make it happen.

Together, our group of six riders, have set a goal of raising $100,000 to research a cure and to care for those already diagnosed with ALS.  We have partnered with Never Surrender Inc. to provide a tax deductible giving platform through their 501c3 organization.  By using this cooperation, we will ensure that the funds we raise get to those that need it the most.

I am excited for this opportunity and truly hope that that our efforts continue to raise awareness for ALS and raise funds for those that are diagnosed with this horrible disease.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to this very important cause.

Sincerely,

Jim Crace
